Nananom in Asunafo South fully Support Ahafo Region.

The people of Kukuom and its environs were blessed with a rare gathering of dignitaries on the 14 December 2018.

Nananom, current and Former DCEs from all political divides, assembly members, Bring Ahafo Regional Minister and Religious leaders held a meeting and a durbar in the Kukuom, the Capital of Asunafo South District to create awareness on the Creation of the New Ahafo Region. They also showed their unflinching support to the cause and urged all their people to turn massively on the day of voting.

The Kontihene of Kukuom, Nana Wireko Ampem welcomed all dignitaries on behalf of Kukuom Traditional Council. Some of the dignitaries who were present included the Bring Ahafo Region Minister Hon. Evan Opoku Bobie, Hon. Dwumoh Mensah ( DCE Asutifi South), Hon. Eric Addai ( Former DCE of Asutifi North), Hon. Osei Bonsu Snr (DCE Asunafo South), Hon Attah Bosompem ( Former DCE Asunafo South), Hon Yaw Boakye (Former MP Asunafo South) and Hon. Ing. Kobby Amoa- Mensah ( Assembly member of Kukuom Abr)mamu) amongst others.

Chiefs, Queenmothers, Regents and their divisional heads of various towns present included Kukuom, Dantano, Yankye, Kwapong, Anwiam, Siena, Asufufuo, Nobekow and other Odikros.

In this opening address, the Kontihene of Kukuom stated the dedication of Nananom towards the creation of Ahafo Region. The Regent of Kukuom indicated that Nananom of Ahafo are the petitioners for the creation of Ahafo reckon. For this reason they will make sure that their people will turn out to vote in large number to atta8n the dream.

Ahafo Region is like a bird in our hand. It is either we squeeze it to die in our hand or we don’t squeeze it to die in our hand.

The meeting also showcased the United forces of Nananom, Nananom in Asunafo South fully Support Ahafo Region.

Furthermore, he thanked the people for supporting him and indicated that as a son of Ahafo he is ready to serve Ahafo and happy to be in kukuom where he worked as a manager of a financial institution before entering active politics.

The day was ended with a Durbar to providing more details on the new region by various stake holders to the General Public.
