Suame National Service Personnel Association has issued a stern warning, threatening to embark on a strike or demonstration if their five months’ worth of allowances are not paid promptly. This announcement was made in an interview with AhafoNews, where the association expressed their grievances and criticized their director for the delay in disbursing the allowances.

According to the Association, their Director refused to submit their details to the regional office for the processing of their documents, resulting in the non-payment of the first two months’ allowances. This delay has caused immense hardship for graduates who heavily rely on the stipend for survival and to financially support themselves while providing their services.

Shinky, a concerned member of the Suame National Service Personnel Association, confirmed that other districts have already received their allowances, leaving Suame personnel frustrated and demoralized. The immediate payment of the allowances is being demanded to avert potential industrial action.

In interviews conducted by Ahafonews, several affected personnel expressed their disappointment, revealing that they have been left with no choice but to consider striking if the Director does not rectify the situation and settle their outstanding arrears.

Reports indicate that all public service personnel in Suame have not received any allowances for the duration of their service. This dire situation has put a strain on their ability to meet basic needs and fulfill their responsibilities at work.

Suame National Service Personnel Association is calling on relevant authorities to urgently address this matter and ensure that the unpaid allowances are disbursed without further delay. Failure to resolve the issue may lead to severe disruptions in public services and a potential work stoppage.
