Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of Club Consult Africa, Yussif Chibsah has revealed that Asante Kotoko is yet to hold a contract renewal talks with his client, Abdul Ganiyu.

The experienced central defender will be out of contract in October this year and has been linked with a move away from the Porcupine Warriors.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Pure FM, the representative of the defender, Yussif Chibsah, who is a former Ghana international revealed the two-time Africa champions have not contacted the relevant parties to discuss about contract renewal.

“Ganiyu is a very respectful and focused player,” he said.

“His contract runs out at the end of October but Kotoko have not contacted the relevant parties to discuss about renewal,” he added.

Ganiyu, who joined Kotoko in 2018 from Karela United has been one of the most outstanding players for the Porcupine Warriors.

He has capped twice for Ghana and is part of Charles Akonnor’s latest Black Stars squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Ganiyu made his Black Stars debut against South Africa during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] qualifiers.
