“Atta Mills Ring Road in Goaso is a death trap and shameful”, says Assembly Member of Kukuom Abrɔmamu.
The Assembly member of Kukuom Abrɔmamu Engineer Kobby Amoa-Mensah has called on the Road authorities to immediately halt and investigate the shambolic road construction currently ongoing in Ahafo Goaso.
“It seems this is a road being built by Carpentars and supervised by welders”, he lamented. The on going works are shockingly abysmal with low regard for temporary traffic management plans.
he Atta Mills Ring Road serves as a new link road which diverts traffic on the Tepa-Goaso And Kukuom -Goaso Roads away from Goaso Business Centre.
The Assembly Member laments that the poor nature of construction of the link road means that the road would exhibit pot holes within a period of 3 months post construction. Most road have a design life span averaging 25 years.
It is difficult to comprehend why a new road under construction should be having segments which are already defective before completion.
Tax papers should have value for money on projects and clearly the nature of the road currently does not show value for money.
Furthermore, Road safety considerations on this road seem to have been given little priority in the design and mid construction stages. One wonders if a Road Safety Audit has been carried out for this road.
These are standard requirements that should be considered to make safe the lives of all road users plying this route.
The lives of people in ahafo have been put at risk. Surely this road needs an urgent review.
The people of Ahafo deserve better.
