The former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC Mr Allotey Jacobs in an exclusive interview on Asempa Fm’s program Ekosii S3n has openly stated that he supports Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia as the Next President of Ghana.
Infact this pronouncement comes across as a shock to many. The shock is not because Dr Bawumia is not qualified to be President. What is shocking is the fact that Mr Allotey Jacobs has clearly indicated that he is not an NPP member however will campaign and totally support Dr Bawumia.
He indicated that, ‘My decision is absolute. I will never change. I am not an NPP member. For the interest of this country, I support Bawumia for President’.
This absolute vouch of support for the current Veep to be President is deemed by some to be a major blow to the NDC.
The research by Ahafo news shows that the breeze blowing at the grassroots level in support for Dr Bawumia cannot be toyed with by anyone. It cuts across ethnic groups, religious groups, age groups, socio economic classes.
