Kaaka’s family worried over arrest of their lawyer Barker-Vormawor

Family members of the late Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Kaaka Macho have said they are concerned about the arrest of Convener of #FixTheCountry Oliver Barker-Vormawor who is their lawyer.

“We are bothered by the arrest of Oliver because he is the family lawyer and a lead counsel in Kaaka’s case” Mohammed Nafiu, the family’s spokesperson told 3news.com at the Asokwa District court on Monday.

The embattled lawyer cum civil right activist is in the grips of the police following an alleged ‘coup’ post on his social medial handle. He has been charged with treason felony by the police and remanded into Police custody.

Barker-Vormawor although, is yet to appear in person at the Asokwa district Court in a case of the late Macho Kaaka, a civil activist who was allegedly murdered in July last year.

However, the family says, he has been providing a distant legal advice.

“He doesn’t come to court but, we hear from him each day” Nafiu said.

Meanwhile, there was no show at the Asokwa district court, following the inability of the police judicial prosecute to appear.

He had earlier informed the court of ill-health. The case has been adjourned to March 8.
