It is with great pleasure to see dreams come true. It is not always that you get to see designs transition into physical buildings and buildings getting completed.
The One Million Dollars per constituency Policy has benefited many constituencies. In Asunafo South we have so far had Two Teachers Quarters built due to this policy. These were built and completed before December 7th, 2020. The locations are at Onwe and Anwiankwanta, in Asunafo South
In our modern political dispensation, the use of professional skills and knowledge to bring value to our people can do wonders. Yes it can.
Adding value is critical
I can say on authority that the compact design taking into consideration the needed functionality aspirations of the teachers were all taken into consideration by myself. I did the design. Yes. Facts are sacred.
Research data on Gross Floor Area of rooms occupied by teachers in rural Ghana were also analysed.
The need for privacy is a basic requirement of every human being. Most teachers in rural communities share communal kitchens, communal bathrooms and public toilet facilities. There was the need in my opinion to solve these problems. My solution was to incorporate all of these facilities into a room. A compact ‘roomy’ apartment ensuite. By the way if you dont understand ensuite please google it. Lol.
No septic tank was dug. The use of modern green technology in waste management was utilised. This needs to be applauded and adopted as a policy by Local government Authorities.
The use of the AMOA-MENSAH cost saving principles as espoused in the Building Estimation Manual for West Africa was heavily relied upon in building cost projections.
Most people cannot fanthom how this project of such quality could be built within that tight budget. Do you know the secret? Construction is not just about putting blocks together.
I feel so happy having spent some professional time on this profect from sub structure construction stage through super structure to finishing for completion. It always feels good giving back to society.
I feel great knowing that my design is contributing to the education sector and development of our beloved constituency.
The extensive interest from other MCEs and DCEs in this very design is rewarding to say the least.
Thanks to HE. Pres. Nana Addo Danquah for bringing this policy. The project will be commissioned tomorrow 8th July 2020 by the Asunafo South District Assembly .
