Members of the Tertiary Confederacy of NPP Alumna (TESCONA) has waded into the Agenda 111 project debate describing it as a “good vision” President Akufo-Addo has for Ghana’s health sector.

The group said they rather expected the opposition NDC to applaud the President for such a noble and bold step in a time when the country battling with the covid-19 pandemic.

“It is not easy for any leader to take such a huge, daring and delicate step as to constructing 111 hospitals across the country in these difficult times.
“…this is why we say that it shows his level of commitment towards seeking a healthy country, even in the face of numerous other challenges”, this was contained in a statement signed by the group’s National Chairman, Suleman S. Dorkrugu and General Secretary Emmanuel Tweneboa Kodua.
The NPP former TESCON Members group rebuked the NDC not to be blinded by politics to undermine good things that God “rains on the people of Ghana through our promise-and-deliver president, Nana show boy”.

The statement pointed that the NDC falsely accusing the President of sidelining the Ministry of Health and putting the Chief of Staff, Frema Osei Opare in a supervisory role over the Agenda 111 project

“Their fervent prayer and expectation is that the Agenda 111 should fail so that they will jubilate, so why worry if the President chooses a wrong office to supervise the project?”
The group noted that the Chief of Staff is already mandated to play a supervisory role over all the ministers.

“So the president announcing that Mdm Frema Osei Opare is going to be in charge does not mean the Minister of Health has been side-stepped but the COS is now going to have specific interest in this project and work closely and diligently for its success.
“It also indicates the seriousness that the president attaches to the health sector and portrays his strong urge to make Ghana the focal hub of health in West Africa”, the statement pointed.

TESCONA commends Prez for Agenda 111, and supports COS supervision

For immediate Release.

The National Executives of TESCON ALUMNAI (TESCONA) wants to express our profound commendation to the president of Ghana, HE Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo for the good vision he has for Ghana in the health sector.

It is not easy for any leader to take such a huge, daring and delicate step as to constructing 111 hospitals across the country in these difficult times.

This is why we say that it shows his level of commitment towards seeking a healthy country, even in the face of numerous other challenges.

In these times of pandemics breaking out and every nation’s health facilities have become insufficient in dealing with the situation, we of TESCONA have been expecting the opposition party NDC to applaud our president on Agenda 111.

We all can remember vividly the statements made by these NDC people on Free Education, and in the end they were hugely surprised and ashamed.

For a group of right thinking people, we think they would have learnt some lessons that, as HE Nana Addo, he is not a promise and fail president. He always delivers because he has Ghanaians at heart.

Now, instead of supporting the NPP and the president with encouraging words to reach achieve this Herculean but achievable vision, they have started throwing dust in the eyes of some Ghanaians. But we boldly state today that they shall be put to shame again.

We have realized that in their bid to throw dust in the eyes of some Ghanaians, they have started accusing the president for making the Chief of Staff the general supervisor for the Agenda in spite of the fact that it is a health issue and should have been under the Ministry of Health.

In the first place, what do they care? Their fervent prayer and expectation is that the Agenda 111 should fail so that they will jubilate, so why worry if the president chooses wrong office to supervise the project?

But our real response to them is that, are they aware the Chief of Staff already plays a supervisory role over all the ministers?

So the president announcing that Mdm Frema Osei Opare is going to be in charge does not mean the Minister of Health has been side-stepped but the COS is now going to have specific interest in this project and work closely and diligently for its success.

It also indicates the seriousness that the president attaches to the health sector and portrays his strong urge to make Ghana the focal hub of health in West Africa.

We want to advice our colleagues in the NDC not to be blinded by politics and fight off good things that God rains on the people of Ghana through our promise-and-deliver president, Nana show boy.

We also want to encourage Ghanaians all over the world to continue supporting our president and this NPP government physically and spiritually so that together, we can achieve the great things God has for us through our current president.

ABOUT TESCONA

TESCONA was formed in 2012 when a group of past TESCON Executives and members realized the party needed a reinforcement of literates at the grassroots. We therefore came together as a basket to bring together all TESCON members after completing the various Tertiary institutions.

It was mainly aimed at putting together a strong data of all Past TESCON members, our various regions and constituencies and assigning ourselves to some polling stations to work there.

Our launching was chaired by the late Akenteng Appiah Minka, a stalwart of the NPP, who also inaugurated our first batch of executives.

Signed
