Three persons have been battling for their lives at the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds during a demonstration at Bibiani in the Western North Region.
The three, were among some youth, who were demonstrating against the opening of the Mensin Mines on Wednesday, 20 July 2022.
According to the youth, management of the mines had refused to employ residents of the area.
This fuelled the demonstration of the youth to register their displeasure with the decision of the mines.
The youth who were allegedly armed, open fire when they reached the premises of the mines despite the presence of heavy security.
The wounded persons are receiving treatment at the Bibiani Government Hospital.
The Bibiani Police has since commenced investigations into the matter.
