Woman Arrested for Biting Customer’s Testicles Over 20 Pesewas Dispute

A 43-year-old woman, Esi Affumwaa, has been arrested by police in Assin Wurakese Camp (Assin Foso Municipality, Central Region) after allegedly biting a customer’s testicles during a violent clash over an unpaid 20-pesewa debt.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Affumwaa’s drinking spot. Victim Osman, a 36-year-old farmer, reported purchasing a cigarette for GH₵1.20 but paying only GH₵1 initially. Upon returning the next day with GH₵5 to settle the balance and buy another cigarette, a dispute erupted when Affumwaa demanded the remaining 20 pesewas.

Osman claimed the argument turned physical, with Affumwaa striking his head with a stick. “She and her children beat me mercilessly before she bit my testicles,” he recounted, leaving him bleeding profusely. Bystanders rushed him to the hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged.

Assin Fosu District Police Commander ASP Jacob Kumedzro confirmed the arrest, noting investigations are ongoing.
