West Africa’s largest orange orchard, Eastfield Farms, has announced a strategic expansion into pineapple and mango cultivation, processing, and exportation, marking a significant step toward strengthening Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Renowned for revolutionizing Ghana’s orange subsector through the creation of the Orange Growers Association (OGA) and the popular ANKAA Juice, Eastfield Farms aims to replicate its success with pineapples and mangoes. The company has established two new cooperatives: the Natural Pineapple Growers Association (PINGA) and the Natural Mango Growers Association (MAGA). These groups will produce ABROBE Juice (pineapple) and AMANGO Juice (mango) for domestic and international markets, adhering to global industry standards.

The expansion aligns with Eastfield Farms’ commitment to reducing fruit waste. Already a pioneer in converting orange waste into scientifically proven fat-reducing pig feed, the company plans to apply similar waste-reduction strategies to pineapple and mango byproducts.

CEO Papa Yaw Ntiforo emphasized the move’s broader impact: “By diversifying into other fruits, we ensure year-round operations for processing partners like SONO, even during orange off-seasons. This stabilizes jobs and boosts productivity.”

Beyond commercial activities, Eastfield Farms’ Eastfield Foundation has spearheaded education, healthcare, and community development projects nationwide. With rising investor interest in its innovative models, the company has urged the government particularly the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to collaborate on creating sustainable jobs for unemployed graduates.

Ntiforo also congratulated newly appointed Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku and Deputy Minister John Dumelo, expressing optimism for partnerships to advance Ghana’s agribusiness sector.
