The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has announced it will provide the necessary security protection for all those who will be involved in the upcoming #FixTheCountry protest.

After months of delay, the road is cleared for conveners of the movement to lead followers and believers of the highly-anticipated demonstration in Accra.

Ahead of the planned protest scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, the Ghana Police has today met with leaders of the FixTheCountry campaign to make key arrangements.

According to a statement from the Police, it is poised to provide security for the march on the set date.

“The Police are poised to provide the necessary security for the safety of the planned procession of members of the #FixTheCountry movement on Wednesday 4th August 2021.

“The Police Administration held a meeting with the Conveners at the Police Headquarters, Accra on 19th July 2021. All matters relating to the “special event” was discussed and agreed, including the routes and COVID-19 protocols. The Police and Conveners will continue to deliberate,” a statement on the Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service reads.

On August 4, all sympathisers of the fix the country campaign will converge at ‘Obra Spot’ at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle at 07:00GMT for the massive protest.
