Fire service visits to Mother Ignacia School

There are a few schools in Ahafo that can boast of the presence of many dignitaries from different facets of our community gracing an occasional on their school premises.

Anyone passing would query as to why the Omanhene of Goaso, The Municipal Police Commander, Fire Service Commander, Directors of GES, Assembly Members and many more had gathered on a
School premises.
The answer is very simple. School children cladded in prestine white uniforms with a red cross.

The official inauguration of The Red Cross Society at the Mother Ignacia School had brought all and sundry to witness and support the occasion.

The pupils of Mother Ignacia showcased their skills and knowledge in first aid through incident/ scenario role plays. It must be said that, the First Aid Skills exhibited by the pupils were exemplary.

The Ahafo enclave lags behind in terms of the availability of medical professionals when compared to averages of national health statistics.

The training of school children in the provision of first aid surely will serve to save lives.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Manager of the Red Cross, Mr Mr. Solomon Ganiyu was thankful to The Management of Mother Ignacia School for being very proactive in equipping their students with an essential skill (life saving skills) by setting up a Red Cross Society Club in the school.

Nana Yawkra the representative for the Omanhene of Goaso, Nana Akwasi Bosompra commended the Management of the School for setting very high standard for other schools in the Ahafo enclave to emulate. He further stressed on the importance of saving lives and told the students to apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge to the befit of society.
