A university education is not simply about preparing students for a job:
It is about teaching young people to be analytical, to think for themselves and to view the world differently.
If Alhassan Suhuyini, MP for Tamale North constituency does not know this and believe University degree Nation Builder is not worth GH700 as a monthly salary, then he is an idiot and a nation wrecker.
Eventhough, for the vast majority of today’s undergraduates, a university degree is viewed primarily as a necessary staging post on their career path.
Yet many of the best and brightest graduates leave their courses thoroughly unequipped for the world of work.
We no longer live in an era where a small number of school-leavers attend university with the guarantee of a graduate job at the end of it.
The massive rise in the number of people going to university in Ghana since 1990 to 2018 has led to a situation where employers can afford to be extremely picky. Put simply, in most cases a degree on its own is no longer enough.
Many graduates find themselves having to embark on postgraduate study or unpaid internships just to get a foot in the door.
The story of many Ghanaian graduates who after 3 years of no job is a sad one and some of these Youth had always wished for a part time job that could pay them something even extremely less than the Nation Builders monthly salary.
Its an open fact which does not demand compromises of wording how stupidly the NDC mercilessly devastated the life and future of Ghanaian Youth into some IMF bailout programme.
That same idiot was with the NDC when the bailout programme was agreed upon. Its quite unfortunate for such a hypocritical halfwit to openly condemn a monthly salary of GH700 for a college graduate.
How many private businesses does Alhassan Suhuyini own in this country?
How many Graduates has he employed in his private businesses?
What are the salaries for the workers in his private businesses?
What is the total salary of Alhassan Suhuyini as a Parlimentarian including allowances?
These and many questions when college graduates find answers to, will stop ranting and wallowing.
An idiot is an idiot. There is no other way or words to describe an idiot.
There is no point explaining to an idiot why a College degree is no guarantee of a high-paying job. He wont understand.
Register for the job and enjoy your salary. Atleast , its better than begging for mobile money.
