On the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, on this Wednesday, 5th day of June 2019 (also 2nd Shawwal 1440 on the Islamic Hijri calendar), the New Patriotic Party in the Ahafo Region joins hands with all Muslims, and wish them a happy Eid.

Eid-ul-Fitr is the Muslim festival celebrated to mark the successful end of 29 or 30 days of obligatory fast, and it is a time to recollect the memories of the period of Ramadan, call up family and friends, hold celebrations, and send felicitations to one another. On such a day, Allah enjoins Muslims in Qur’an 69:24 thus: *”Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.”*

Even as our Muslim brothers feast and share with their friends and associates, *let us all commit to observe an Eid-ul-Fitr that is free from accidents and hazards*. Please observe public order practices, and road traffic regulations too. Indeed, a celebration is only worth it when it comes and passes without any inconveniences.

Let us channel the moral fortitude attained from the period of Ramadan into our everyday lives*, so as to affect national development positively. *May the blessings of the just ended Ramadan be with us*, and continue to shed showers of prosperity on the good people of this country, and on the government of HE President Akufo-Addo, towards the Ghana that we want.

On behalf of the Regional Chairman and Executives, Patrons and Elders, and indeed, the entire membership of the NPP in the Ahafo Region, and on my own behalf, I wish all Muslims – in Ahafo, Ghana, and everywhere – a most cheerful Eid-ul-Fitr.

Eid Mubarak!

Gausu Mohammed Baba

Regional Secretary
