The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing to go to the polls next year to elect Constitiency Executives who will steer it’s affairs in a bid to retain power in the 2024 general elections.
The Youth form a very important wing/constitiency which is important to the fortunes of any formidable political party.
One of the key positions to be keenly contested in Asunafo South Constituency is that of Youth Organiser.
The incumbent Constituency Youth Organiser according to our research is not coming back.
Although not official, our research shows that the following individuals are interested in the Youth Organiser Position in Asunafo South:
1. Ernest Opoku Gyamfi (Foxy),
2. Baafi Ofusu Stephen (Teacher Baafi),
3. Hon. Atakora Amaniampong Gideon
4. Obeng Marcus Noah (Ogacha)
5. Duke Osabutey
6. Hon Opoku Sarbeng
7.Addo Boakye Yiadom Prince (Kiss me).
It is evident that the individuals mentioned above all bring different skillsets and experiences to the table. Regardless of what can be brought to the table, only one person can win to be elected as the Youth Organiser.
We present a preliminary, rigorous, objective analysis on each candidate and this rate their chances.
*Political Experience, Reputation in the party, Activity in 2020 Elections.*
1. Ernest Opoku Gyamfi popular called Foxy is a well known party faithful who has tried to get elected as the youth organiser on at least two occasions without success. He is the current Communications Director of the party. What will make or unbreak his candidature is his past relationship with members of the party and whether he wholeheartedly worked for the party in the 2020 campaign. It remains to be seen if indeed the Communication Director can become the Youth Organiser.

2. Baafi Ofusu Stephen popularly called Teacher Baafi hails from Sankore and is a well known party faithful who has been active in the party over the previous years. He is currently a Polling Station Executive in Sankore. What will make/break or unbreak his candidature is how much work he is deemed to have carried out across the Constitiency for the party. Others may also query his inactivity outside Sankore.

3. Hon. Atakora Amaniampong Gideon.
Popularly called Hon Gideon, he is currently serving as An assembly member for one of the two electoral areas in Kwapong. He is well known in the Kwapong area where he hails from.
He is currently an Electoral Area Coordinator in Kwapong.
What will make/break or unbreak his candidature is his capacity to reach out off Kwapong and the number of contenders from Kwapong. He will share votes with other Kwapong natives contesting. This surely means that he needs to have a strong force outside of Kwapong in order to succeed.

4. Obeng Marcus Noah popularly called Ogacha/ General Marcus Garvey.
He is a party faithful who distinguished himself at a time when party leadership failed to stand up to the task of organising the youth.
This vibrant contender is well known in the towns of Sankore, Kwapong, Kukuom and Ntonso Areas. What will make/break or unbreak his candidature is his capability to showcase he knows and understands the party.
He will surely take votes from Sankore, Kukuom, Kwapong areas due to his strong ties. It remains to be seen if ties mean votes.

5. Duke Osabutey
The calm working gentleman in Abuom brings to the table options that are vital to our party. Cool and intelligent heads. Although Duke is a hard working party member and well known in Abuom and surrounding Electoral Areas, the question being asked by many is if he is known by the electorate outside of his electoral area. What will break or unbreak him will be his popularity outside of Abuom and the potential that votes could be split between him and Hon. Sarbeng.

6. Hon Sarbeng
As the Assembly member of Afodowa Electoral area, Hon Sarbeng operates in a geographic space with many influential electorates who can swing an election. He may split votes with Duke Osabutey. His popularity beyond his electoral area will be brought to the fore and tested. His instrumental role in good campaign in the 2020 elections could be advantageous.

7.Addo Boakye Yiadom Prince (Kiss me).
It is on record that he is a new convert to the elephant party and it remains to be seen if party faithfuls will entrust the youth wing to him for experimentation after his well known machinations which many have questioned.
