The Electoral Commission of Ghana has began a vote transfer exercise for the various political parties ahead of their party’s primaries.

The exercise which began yesterday on the 11th of February, 2019 is expected to end on the 8th of March, 2019.

In a memo signed by the Deputy Director in charge of operations, interested applicants are expected to apply to the District Electoral Officers.

District officers are however required to ensure that applicants meet the requirement in relation to transfer of votes.

Below Is a Copy of the Memo.

We wish to inform you that the voter transfer window on the VMS will be opened from 11th February, 2019 to 8th March, 2019 for applicants for the political parties’ primaries.

Interested applicants are expected to apply to the District Electoral Officer. District Electoral Officers are to ensure that applicants meet the requirement in relation to transfer of votes as follows:

a. Must be a registered voter

b. Must have registered in a district other than the one in which he/she currently resides

c. Must be resident in a district within any of the proposed regions for not less than 12 months.

d. Must provide physical proof of residence; and

e. Must be prepared to sign a voter Transfer Declaration form.

We would be grateful if all Regional Directors inform their district officers accordingly.
